Informed Consent

Patient records are securely stored and accessed by Roland Abina-Japone’s Mental Health Team. Confidentiality exceptions include A. serious harm (to self or others), B. abuse, C. legal orders, or D. patient consent. Therapy success depends on both the therapist and the patient. The patient is responsible for lifestyle changes from therapy. The therapist isn’t obligated to appear in legal proceedings unless legally required. If the therapist perceives danger to the client, they can warn the person in danger or contact authorities. This expires upon service termination. The client can terminate services anytime. Consultation notes will be taken for progress monitoring. Data will be securely stored and discarded after service termination or up to 15 years as per the Department of Health’s recommendation. Do you issue Medical Certificates?

No. But alternatively, I issue a Mental Health Certificate that serves the same purpose. It's our (Psychologist) own version of a clinical certificate. Note that this form of clinical certificate is a legal document affixed with my digital signature. Clinical certificates that indicate leave recommendation are not part of insurance coverage and shall only be given for specific valid reasons and after the consultation.

Why is the soonest appointment available 2-3 weeks from now?

Sir RJ Abina-Japone is a highly sought-after counselor and psychotherapist, and his schedule tends to fill up quickly. To ensure you get the appointment time that best suits your needs, we recommend booking your sessions in advance.

I'm an existing client. How can I get an earlier and consistent schedule with Sir Rj?

The best way to secure an earlier and consistent schedule with Sir Rj is to book your next session at the end of your current appointment. This allows you to reserve your preferred time slot for future sessions.

Cancellation and No Show Policy

Cancellation Policy: For a pre-scheduled appointment, kindly cancel 72 hours in advance. If, for any reason, you miss this window, a "late cancellation fee" of PHP 500.00 will be applied. We cannot offer you any refund for cancellations made within the day of your scheduled session No Show Policy: Life can be unpredictable, and we get that. If you anticipate being late, please inform your psychologist. Arriving late may result in a shorter session. However, if you can't make it within the first 15 minutes of your scheduled time, the session will be marked as a NO SHOW. Unfortunately, we won't be able to offer a refund for missed sessions.

What's the rescheduling policy?

We understand that sometimes, adjustments need to be made. If you need to reschedule your appointment, please inform us at least 24 hours before your scheduled time. This allows us to offer your slot to other clients. If a rescheduling request is made less than 24 hours before the appointment, a “late rescheduling fee” of PHP 500.00 will be applied.

Which HMO's/Healthcards do you accept?

Unfortunately, not yet. There are very few HMOs that covers Psychotherapy session. But we'll work on that.
