What can I seek therapy for?
Patients seek therapy for a wide range of concerns, including trauma, mood disorders (such as bipolar disorder), suicidal thoughts, anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, and challenges related to past experiences such as abuse. Therapy is also helpful for personal growth and emotional support during difficult life transitions.
Do I need to have a diagnosis to start therapy?
No. You do not need a formal diagnosis to begin therapy. Many individuals come simply because they are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or distressed and want support.
How long are sessions and how often do we meet?
Sessions typically last 60 minutes. Frequency is discussed together and may be weekly, biweekly, or adjusted based on your needs.
Do you work with bipolar disorder?
Yes. I provide support through emotional regulation, insight, routine stability, and coping strategies alongside appropriate medical care when needed.
Is therapy only for when things are "really bad"?
Not at all. Therapy can be helpful at any stage — whether you’re in crisis, coping with ongoing stress, or simply wanting better emotional understanding and balance.
Is online therapy effective?
Yes. Research shows that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many mental health concerns, while offering greater accessibility and flexibility. However, patients must also consider the limitations of online therapy.
Do you work with trauma and past abuse?
Yes. I use a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes safety, pacing, and emotional regulation.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. All sessions are confidential, with exceptions only when required by law (such as immediate risk of harm to yourself or others). These limits are discussed clearly at the start of therapy.
How long does therapy usually last?
Therapy length varies for each individual. Some patients attend short-term therapy, while others benefit from longer-term support depending on their goals and concerns.
What can I expect in the first session?
The first session focuses on getting to know you, understanding your concerns, and discussing what you hope to gain from therapy.
Do you issue mental health certificates or supporting documents when needed?
Yes, mental health certificates may be provided when clinically appropriate for employment or educational purposes. Processing typically takes 3–5 working days, and an additional fee applies separate from the consultation cost. Please note that requesting a certificate does not automatically guarantee issuance. All documentation is carefully considered and provided only after a proper clinical assessment and evaluation, in accordance with ethical and professional guidelines.
What happens if I am in crisis?
Online therapy is not a replacement for emergency services. If you are in immediate danger, you should contact local emergency services or a crisis support line. Safety planning is discussed during the first session of therapy.
Do you work with suicidal thoughts?
Yes. I provide supportive, non-judgmental care for individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts. Therapy focuses on understanding distress, strengthening coping strategies, and enhancing safety and support.
