Alet Gerardo C. Hernandez, MD, is a Diplomate of the Philippine Board of Anesthesiology, a Fellow of the Philippine Society for Pediatric Anesthesiologists, and holds a Master’s Degree in Hospital Administration. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Certified Anesthesia Partners & Co. He is the former Head of the Pediatric Anesthesia Section of the Department of Anesthesiology at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Quezon City, and previously served as the Head of Research of the same department. Dr. Hernandez is a former member of the Philippine Board of Directors of the PSPA. He completed his residency training in Anesthesiology at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Philippines, and pursued fellowship training in Pediatric Anesthesia at Shanghai Children’s Medical Center and Qingdao Women and Children Hospital. His special interest lies in Pediatric Anesthesiology, particularly in cases involving pediatric urology, minimally-invasive laparoscopic anesthesia for pediatric patients, as well as diagnostic and interventional pediatric procedures. In 2017, he performed anesthesia services for the first pediatric robotic surgery in the Philippines at St. Luke’s Medical Center, BGC. His expertise includes general anesthesia services for surgery, ENT, orthopedic, gynecologic, plastic, and out-of-OR procedures like gastrointestinal endoscopies, sedation for brachytherapies, shockwave lithotripsies, and therapeutic and diagnostic interventional radiology procedures. He is a strong advocate of patient safety and has been part of the committee for creation of safe sedation policy.
