Dr. Gutierrez-Rubio is a graduate of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency and rheumatology clinical fellowship at the Philippine General Hospital. She then completed a post-graduate research fellowship in inflammatory arthritis under the Division of Rheumatology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. While there received training in musculoskeletal ultrasound and joint and soft tissue injections at the Rapid Arthritis Care and Evaluation Clinic. Dr. Rubio manages patients with inflammatory arthritis and autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), gout, osteoarthritis, and other connective tissue diseases (Sjogren's syndrome, scleroderma, myositis, vasculitis, interstitial lung disease, and more). She has delivered lectures on these topics in both local and international meetings and has published research on patient reported outcomes in rheumatoid arthritis and immune-related adverse events from cancer immunotherapy.
