Dr. Danilo V. Constantino, II has been an active consultant of the Retina Section of the Eye Institute of St. Luke's Medical Center Global City Philippines since 2010 and is currently its Assistant Director for Research Development and Quality Standards and Control. He specializes in Vitreo-Retinal diseases and surgery along with advance cataract procedures. Dr. Constantino has been a facilitator and examiner at the oral examinations of the Philippine Board of Ophthalmology for several years. Dr. Constantino is a co-author of chapters on "Retinal Dystrophies" and "Interesting Retinal Cases" of the Handbook on Optical Coherence Tomography of St. Luke's Medical Center International Eye Institute published in 2007. He is the main author on the chapter on "Blunt Ocular Trauma" of the Retina and Vitreous Handbook of the same institution published in 2017. He has lectured on several topics on Age-Related Macular Degeneration, and Retinal Vein Occlusion for the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology lecture series and instructional courses and has chaired retina sessions in conventions and international symposia. He presented cases on Diabetic Macular Edema at an industry sponsored Meeting with the Retina Experts at the Euretina Congress in Barcelona, Spain and at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His recent talks were on Current Treatment Algorithm of Diabetic Retinopathy and Macular Edema at the 20th Anniversary Scientific Meeting of the Vitreo-Retina Society of the Philippines and at the 2019 annual convention of the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Constantino also has a B.S. Biology diploma from the University of the Philippines, Diliman.
