Dr. Gayle Louise Opada-Villarmea, is a Board-certified Dermatologist under the Philippine Dermatological Society (PDS) and a fellow of Dermatopathology Society of the Philippines. She was the only applicant from Visayas to be accepted at the Dermatology Department for her 3 year specialty training at Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center (JRRMMC) in 2010. In 2013, she is the first and the lone Filipino dermatologist to be invited with a full scholarship award for a specialty training at Sapporo Dermatopathology Institute in Japan. She was also trained in 2015 at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) under the Dermatopathology Service Course. Recently, After 1.5 years in Seoul, South Korea doing a fellowship training on Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Dr. Gayle Louise Opada-Villarmea returns to Dumaguete City at the start of 2024. She is now the only Mohs surgeon in the whole of Visayas and one of the very few in the whole country with this specialism. She is now able to cater to patients requiring a complex technique of removing cancerous cells of the skin. Alongside being a medical specialist, Gayle is also a local craft beer brewer.
