Karl is a board-certified medical oncologist with extensive experience in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide variety of cancers. His particular field of interest and sub-specialization is in the treatment of early and high-risk breast cancer, including those developing in young women. Karl received his medical degree from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine and went on to pursue Internal Medicine at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute. He then finished his Medical Oncology training at the University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH). He was the first international fellow to have been accepted in the Breast Cancer Clinical Research Fellowship program of the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse - Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, Australia. In addition to clinical practice, Karl actively engages in oncology research, continually seeking innovative approaches and breakthrough treatments to advance the field of cancer management. He has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications and has also presented his studies both in local and and international scientific meetings.
