Dr. Mareil Bitoon has an extensive medical background, starting with a BS Biology Degree from the University of the Philippines Manila and a medical degree from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, College of Medicine. He completed a 5-year General Surgery training at Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center before specializing in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery through a fellowship in the TCVS-Consortium, where he gained exposure to various cases in Tertiary Hospitals in Manila. With a keen interest in Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery and Thoracic Oncology, Dr. Bitoon pursued further training with a 1-year Thoracic Surgery Fellowship at Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Australia, renowned institutions in the field. During this time, he acquired advanced skills in Video-assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS) and Robotic Surgery (da Vinci System) while actively participating in collaborative Multidisciplinary Team Meetings.
