Pre-existing medical conditions If you have conditions that could complicate your pregnancy such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, autoimmune disorders (such as APAS or SLE), or kidney disease. 2. Advanced maternal age If you are over 35 years old, this increases the risk of certain pregnancy complications such as chromosomal abnormalities. 3. Previous pregnancy complications If you've experienced complications in previous pregnancies such as preterm birth, preeclampsia, or fetal growth restriction. 4. Fetal abnormalities If prenatal screening tests or ultrasound examinations suggest that your baby may have a birth defect or genetic disorder. 5.
