What should I expect during my first consultation?
Your first consultation is a safe, supportive space where we can get to know each other and explore what brings you in. I’ll be asking about your current concerns, emotional well-being, personal history, and other factors that may be affecting your mental health.
This session typically lasts around 45-60 minutes, and it may include:
• A gentle and structured psychosocial interview
• Exploring your symptoms, thought patterns, and stressors
• Understanding your family and medical background
• Discussing any previous mental health care
• Collaboratively setting goals for treatment and recovery
At the end of the session, I may provide an initial impression or diagnosis, and we’ll talk about possible next steps — whether that includes therapy, medication, or both. For some cases, a follow-up visit may be needed before finalizing a treatment plan or issuing documents like medical certificates.
My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported.
Is it normal to feel nervous before a psychiatric consult?
Absolutely. It’s completely normal to feel anxious or unsure before opening up — especially if this is your first time seeking help. You are not alone, and you’ll never be judged here. My approach is always compassionate, collaborative, and at your own pace.
I’m not sure if I should book an appointment — what if I’m just overthinking?
It’s completely okay to feel unsure. Many people hesitate before booking their first consult — and that’s a very human experience.
You don’t need to have everything figured out or feel like your situation is “severe enough.” If something’s affecting your daily life, emotions, sleep, focus, or relationships, it’s worth talking about — even just to explore.
This is a safe, non-judgmental space where you can take things one step at a time. You’re welcome here, exactly as you are.
Do you offer therapy, or just medication?
I provide both psychiatric assessment and supportive therapy, depending on your needs. Not everyone needs medication — and some benefit from talk-based interventions or a mix of both. We’ll explore what works best for you.
Will I be seen immediately if I have an urgent concern?
This platform is intended only for NON-URGENT concerns.
