Frequently Asked Questions

Informed Consent for Teleconsultation

The therapist securely stores client records, with confidentiality upheld unless: 1. There is serious harm to self or others. 2. Abuse or neglect is disclosed or suspected. 3. A legal order mandates disclosure. 4. The client provides written consent. Therapy success depends on both the therapist and the client. Clients are responsible for implementing changes discussed in therapy. The therapist is not obligated to participate in legal proceedings unless legally required. If the therapist identifies a risk of harm, they may notify the person at risk or contact authorities. This authorization ends upon service termination. Clients may terminate services at any time. Consultation notes are securely stored and retained for up to 15 years, per Department of Health guidelines. By booking a teleconsultation, you confirm your understanding and agreement to these terms. https://bit.ly/almiranez-informedconsent

Do you issue Medical Certificates?

I issue Mental Health Certificates, which serve the same purpose as a clinical certificate. This certificate is a legal document, digitally signed by me as a licensed psychologist. Please note that certificates recommending leave are not typically covered by insurance and are issued only for valid reasons following a consultation. Issuance of certificates requires a comprehensive psychological evaluation, including a series of psychological tests. Depending on the purpose and nature of the certificate, processing may take 3-5 working days. It is important to understand that a single session is usually insufficient to establish a baseline necessary for issuing such a document. An additional fee applies for the issuance of certificates. The exact amount will be communicated during the consultation process.

How long does a typical session last?

A typical session lasts around 45 minutes per client. It can take longer depending on the client's case and needs. Please take note that the first session will be for intake interviews and initial consultations.
