He is an adult internist specializing on the treatment and prevention of bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic human infections. He had his residency training in Internal Medicine and served as Chief Resident during his senior year in Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC). Thereafter, he worked as junior consultant in SPMC's HIV Clinic where he had wide experience of handling HIV patients and managing their opportunistic and non-opportunistic infections such as Tuberculosis, Pneumonia, Meningitis, Toxoplasmosis, Cytomegalovirus Infection and Sexually Transmitted Infections. He then proceeded with his subspecialty training in Adult Infectious Diseases and served as a Chief Fellow during his senior year in Philippine General Hospital. Currently, he is a board-certified Infectious Disease Specialist and is affiliated in nine different Level 2 and Level 3 hospitals within Davao City. He is the present chairperson of the Infection Prevention and Control Unit in Davao Medical School Foundation Hospital.
