Matt Calvin Dadivas

Registered Guidance Counselor/Psychometrician (Ongoing PhD in Clinical Psychology)

"For more safe spaces, one space at a time." This has been my battle cry as someone who is pursuing a passion and career in the field of guidance and counseling, psychology, and mental health. Hi, dear Client! I am Matt Calvin S. Dadivas (he/him), a Registered Guidance Counselor and Psychometrician. I am currently affiliated with the Ateneo de Manila University. I graduated from the University of the East-Manila as Magna Cum Laude with a BS Psychology degree; and graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University with a degree Master of Arts in Education major in Guidance and Counseling. In the same University as my Master’s, I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Philosophy degree majoring in Clinical Psychology. For my research endeavors, I have publications with the Universal Journal of Psychology and The Guidance Journal of the Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association. For several years of practicing guidance, counseling, and therapy, and as a soon-to-be Registered Psychologist, I have become a mental health professional advocating for well-being, safe spaces, and gender inclusivity. As I call it my "gender work", part of my advocacy is providing, promoting, and strengthening safe spaces for LGBTQ+ individuals. Nevertheless, I can still provide my mental health services to all regardless of background. I am someone who uses an eclectic approach in my counseling and therapy practice. I can be well-versed in different counseling and therapy techniques and interventions. But to highlight, as of now, I regularly use LGBTQ+ Affirmative Counseling, Solution-Focused Brief Counseling, Grief Counseling, Existential Counseling, Reality/Choice Counseling, Person-Centered Counseling, Gestalt Counseling, Cognitive-Behavioral Counseling, and Psychosocial Support. I also have a background in EAP-based individual and group wellness sessions. Aside from my full time work in an academic setting as a licensed counselor/therapist, my other lines of work include delivering seminars/workshops/trainings and academic-related services like thesis/research consultancy, research instrument validation, and lecturer for RPm/RGC board exams subjects. I understand that at times, seeking professional help may be scary or uncertain. But I am here with you to gently guide you in the process. At the end of our journey, part of it is equipping you with tools and/or resources towards your overall well-being and resilience. Thank you and I hope to join you in your journey towards your wellness! In the spirit of well-being and safe spaces, Matt, Your Mental Health Companion
