Dr. Miguel Manuel Torrijos is a board-certified psychiatrist dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care across the lifespan, with a special focus on older adults. He completed his psychiatry residency training at Makati Medical Center, where he graduated as Chief Resident, and subsequently pursued subspecialty training in Geriatric Psychiatry at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) in Singapore, the largest quaternary psychiatric hospital in Southeast Asia, becoming the department's first international fellow. His areas of expertise include elderly mental health, dementia, behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD), depression and anxiety in later life, cognitive disorders, and the psychiatric care of older adults with complex medical conditions. Dr. Torrijos is committed to delivering patient-centered care that addresses not only the needs of the individual but also those of their families and caregivers. He believes in combining the latest evidence-based treatments with compassionate listening, clear communication, and collaborative decision-making to help patients achieve the best possible quality of life.
