M.D., F.P.O.A.

The scope of my practice includes spinal procedures for degenerative cervical, thoracic, and lumbar degenerative disc disease with a special interest in the application of minimally invasive techniques. I had the privilege of training both in the USA and in Singapore, at high volume spine centers, with extensive exposure to a wide range of spinal procedures. These included adult and pediatric reconstruction for spinal deformities and scoliosis, primary and metastatic spine tumor surgery, infections, cervical and lumbar fusions for degenerative conditions, cervical reconstruction for OPLL, and growth modulating techniques for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, such as thoracoscopic tethering. I also became proficient in diagnostic and therapeutic spinal injections, the latter tailored to patients that were unable to afford major spinal surgeries. I am passionate about research and was able to produce several publications in the areas of adult spinal deformity, metastatic spine tumor surgery, and cervical spine conditions during my fellowship. I am also active in the education, teaching and supervision of resident physicians as well as student learners in my affiliated hospitals and routinely collaborate with them to increase their interest in clinical research.
