Dr. Ramos is a board-certified, fellowship trained spine surgeon whose scope of practice includes cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spinal pathologies. He has a special interest in Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) to improve clinical outcomes in his patients (i.e. less postoperative pain, shorter hospital stay, faster recovery). He completed his orthopedic residency at St. Luke’s Medical Center and pursued spine surgery fellowship training both in the USA and Singapore at high volume spine centers with extensive exposure to a wide range of spinal procedures. These included adult and pediatric reconstruction for spinal deformities and scoliosis, primary and metastatic spine tumor surgery, infections, cervical and lumbar fusions for degenerative conditions, cervical reconstruction for OPLL, and growth modulating techniques for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, such as thoracoscopic tethering. Dr. Ramos is also proficient in diagnostic and therapeutic spinal injections for patients who are not amenable to surgery. Passionate about research, he has produced several publications in the areas of adult spinal deformity, metastatic spine tumor surgery, and cervical spine conditions. Dr. Ramos is also active in the education, teaching and supervision of resident physicians as well as student learners in his affiliated institutions.
