Do you issue Medical Certificates?
No. But alternatively, I do issue Mental Health Certificates that serve a similar purpose. It is our (Psychologists) own version of a clinical certificate.
Note that this form of clinical certificate is a legal document affixed with my digital signature.
Clinical certificates that indicate leave recommendation are not part of insurance coverage and shall only be given for specific valid reasons and after the consultation.
What happens during a session?
When you first visit a doctor, you will usually be asked about your personal & medical history. Initial therapy sessions are similar. Typically, you will be interviewed during your first session & be asked similar questions, including family & environmental history. These are important information that your therapist needs for them to better understand your situation & have an idea on how to proceed with treatment. As a therapist, I understand that treatment may not be the same for everyone. Experiences, genealogy, and personality vary per person, which is why treatment modes and styles also vary. Sessions typically last for 45 to 60 minutes. In these sessions, the treatment process will start. You will be educated on what may be done and why it needs to be done. You will also be provided with the necessary tools that may aid in your healing. Just like how physicians prescribe medication, we may activities or homework that you need to do for treatment to work optimally.
