Sometimes, we may not know whether we need counselling or if we should just “suck it up” or “get over it.” We can feel stuck, anxious, and unsure if things will get better in time. I offer collaborative, scientifically studied techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and counselling to help you think and feel better. My name is Niccolo J. Tiangco, but you can call me “Colo” for short. I graduated with BA and MA degrees in Psychology in 2012 and 2017, respectively, after which I obtained my Professional Regulation Commission license as a psychologist in the Philippines. I then enrolled in a second masters program at the University of Edinburgh to study cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) at an international level and graduated in 2024 with distinction. I use a friendly but professional approach based on CBT and an openness to explore significant events, relationships, and patterns in your life. I am a strong advocate of the collaborative, reflective nature of counselling: We will together make sense of the thoughts and feelings most important to you. On the side, I have been a teacher, professional editor and writer, and a Yoga Alliance-certified yoga instructor. Though I have worked with various populations, my current focus is mood disorders, substance use issues, relationship issues, life transitions, and existential and identity concerns. I look forward to working with you.
