What happens during the screening?

The screening package includes two sessions: * Session 1: Speech and Language Screening (1 hour) * Session 2: Results counseling, discussion of findings, release of the screening report, and dissemination of the individualized home program.

What will I receive after the screening?

By the second session, you will receive: * A Speech and Language Screening Report * An individualized Home Program * Recommendations for therapy, further assessment, or referrals when appropriate.

Who can book an appointment?

I accept both pediatric and adult clients for speech and language screening and therapy. Services are individualized based on each client’s communication needs.

What is the difference between a screening and a comprehensive assessment?

A screening is a brief evaluation that helps determine whether communication concerns may be present and whether further assessment or therapy is recommended. A comprehensive assessment is a more in-depth evaluation using standardized and/or informal assessment tools to establish a diagnosis and guide intervention planning.

What is a Home Program?

A home program is a personalized set of activities and strategies that clients or caregivers can practice at home to support communication development. It is intended to complement therapy and promote carryover of skills into daily life.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

No, referral is generally required to schedule a screening or speech therapy consultation. However, referrals from physicians or other healthcare professionals are welcome and may be beneficial for coordinated care.
