Informed Consent
Important Information and Policies
Patient records are securely stored and accessed only by Roland Abina-Japone’s Mental Health Team. Confidentiality exceptions include threats of harm (to self or others), abuse, legal orders, or patient consent. Therapy success relies on collaboration, and patients are responsible for implementing lifestyle changes. The therapist is not obligated to participate in legal proceedings unless required by law.
If potential danger is identified, appropriate actions, such as notifying authorities, may be taken. This responsibility ends upon service termination. Clients may terminate services anytime.
Consultation notes are taken to monitor progress. Data is securely stored and discarded after service termination or retained for up to 15 years, per the Department of Health's recommendations.

How long does a typical session last?
Each psychotherapy session with Sir RJ lasts between 45 and 50 minutes.
What's the rescheduling policy?
We understand that plans can change, and we strive to accommodate your needs. If you need to reschedule an appointment, please notify us at least 72 hours in advance. This advance notice allows us to offer your slot to other clients who may be waiting for an available session.
Please note that rescheduling requests made within 72 hours of the appointment prevent us from offering the session to someone else. This results in a significant loss of income for the Psychotherapist, who is committed to providing affordable and high-quality care. Due to this, a late rescheduling fee of PHP 750.00 will apply for changes made within this timeframe.
Cancellation and No Show Policy
No Show Policy:
Life can be unpredictable, and we get that. If you anticipate being late, please inform your psychologist. Arriving late may result in a shorter session. However, the session will be marked as a NO SHOW if you can't make it within the first 15 minutes of your scheduled time. Unfortunately, we won't be able to offer a refund for missed sessions.
What happens if I need to cancel my appointment?
Once you’ve requested a consultation and the psychologist accepts, the appointment is considered booked. Unfortunately, any cancellation by the client is non-refundable. We recommend rescheduling (at least 72 hours before your scheduled appointment) instead of canceling to find a new appointment time that works for both you and the psychologist.
What happens if I don’t respond to a reschedule request within 24 hours?
If you fail to provide a response to a reschedule request within 24 hours, the appointment will be forfeited. This means that the original appointment time will no longer be available, and the patient will need to schedule a new appointment.
Can I share my account with someone else or allow others to use my NowServing Account for a session?
No, due to data management and privacy concerns, we strongly encourage creating separate accounts to ensure compliance with data management and privacy standards. After each session, we provide comprehensive documentation available within 24 to 72 hours. This documentation is accessible to the patient and protected under client-therapist confidentiality. If the client chooses to share their document with anyone, they are solely responsible for that access.
Why is the soonest appointment available 2-3 weeks from now?
Sir RJ Abina-Japone is a highly sought-after counselor and psychotherapist, and his schedule tends to fill up quickly. To ensure you get the appointment time that best suits your needs, we recommend booking your sessions in advance.
Do you issue Medical Certificates?
No. But alternatively, I issue a Mental Health Certificate that serves the same purpose. It's our (Psychologist) own version of a clinical certificate. Note that this form of clinical certificate is a legal document affixed with my digital signature. Clinical certificates that indicate leave recommendation are not part of insurance coverage and shall only be given for specific valid reasons and after the consultation.
I'm an existing client. How can I get an earlier and consistent schedule with Sir Rj?
The best way to secure an earlier and consistent schedule with Sir Rj is to book your next session at the end of your current appointment. This allows you to reserve your preferred time slot for future sessions.
I booked a session and forgot to pay, and now the slot is unavailable. Why?
To confirm your appointment booking, we require payment upfront. This ensures efficient scheduling and allows us to offer the available time slots to other patients in need. Once your payment is received, your appointment will be confirmed in our system. If your preferred slot becomes unavailable after your payment, we will contact you to discuss alternative options.
When and where will I receive my post-consultation documents and worksheets?
As a courtesy, we provide complimentary post-consultation documents and worksheets within 72 hours of your session. These will be sent directly to your NowServing App. While these documents are free at present, creating them requires careful attention to detail. If you haven't received them within 72 hours, please don't hesitate to contact us for a follow-up.
Can I get Sir RJ's contact number for emergencies?
Sir RJ dedicates his time to scheduled psychotherapy sessions to provide focused care to each patient. For any urgent concerns or questions outside of your scheduled appointments, you can message the clinic directly, and our support team will be happy to assist you as soon as possible. It's important to note that we are not equipped to provide emergency response services.
Which HMO's/Healthcards do you accept?
Unfortunately, not yet. There are very few HMOs that covers Psychotherapy session. But we'll work on that.
