Hi, I’m Coco! I am a licensed psychologist (not a medical doctor) with specialization on addiction treatment and clinical psychology. I founded Camp Coco, my own mental health and lifestyle brand in 2018, to create experiences and services that are short-term, accessible, intentional and practical but also evidence-informed and effective. Prior to that, I've gained over a decade of experience in addiction treatment. Clinical work (my favorites are individual psychotherapy and group therapy) has always been my first love since 2012. I started training and practicing as a young clinician over ten years ago in both residential and out-patient settings. Cases I’ve handled: Substance use disorders (alcohol and/or drugs) , Gambling and gaming addictions, Depression and mood disorders, Anxiety, Stress and Burnout, Personality disorders , Adjustment difficulties ; Dealing with change and life transitions, Co-occurring mental disorders. In this practice, my treatment is individualized, collaborative, culturally-responsive, recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and client-centered. My treatment approach is cognitive-behavior therapy integrated with DBT skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. I also utilize motivational interviewing skills in my sessions. I also create and develop various treatment and intervention programs on mental health, well-being, and substance use, gambling and gaming addictions.
